Node Stories
From Using Technology to Creating With It
The moment a young person stops consuming technology and starts making it — and what causes it.

There is a point in most workshops where the room changes. Someone stops waiting for instructions and starts trying things.
It is rarely the software
It happens when the task becomes personal. A generic tutorial produces compliance; asking someone to build something for themselves produces curiosity.
Small, visible wins
Confidence comes from finished things. A two-hour session that ends with something real is worth more than a term of incomplete exercises.
Let it break
Learners who are never allowed to fail do not learn to debug. We build in failure deliberately: a file that will not open, a model that will not print, a scene that renders wrong.
Someone to ask
Access to a person who will answer the specific question, at the moment it arises, is the difference between stopping and continuing. That is most of what mentoring is.
What we take from this
Design for the moment of ownership, not the syllabus. Everything else follows.
Want to put this into practice? Node runs workshops, bootcamps and mentoring across these areas.
